Summary of Work Start Scheme Placement Opportunity
 
 
LIangollen Railway is a Heritage Railway line running between LIangollen following the River Dee through the Dee valley for 10 Miles to Corwen we have a FB page which we try to keep up to date on are progress. 
 
 
 
 
 
Duties/Responsibilities
 
 
 
The café assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the café, and ensuring a positive and welcoming environment for customers. The café assistant will work closely with the café manager and other team members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
1. Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, and assist them with menu selections.
2. Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, and process payments.
3. Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, tea, sandwiches, pastries, and other café items.
4. Maintain a clean and organized café environment by regularly cleaning tables, counters, and equipment.
5. Ensure that food and beverage displays are well-stocked, appealing, and meet quality standards.
6. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
7. Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and restocking supplies as needed.
8. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and requests promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the café manager when necessary.
9. Collaborate with the café team to ensure efficient workflow and excellent customer service.
10. Participate in training programs and continually update product knowledge to provide accurate information to customers.
11. Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment by fostering teamwork and supporting colleagues when needed.
12. Stay updated on current café promotions, events, and special offerings to effectively communicate them to customers.
 
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Personal Qualities
 
Honest reliable and very hardworking willing to work as a team and learn new skills good time keeping and attendance also have an interest in local history and willing to give 100% customer service and always think safety first when working. Good Communication Skills. Experience in a customer service role, preferably in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
