Primary duties include stocking ingredients, slicing produce, cutting into portions and cleaning the kitchen. Assisting with breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Washing, peeling and preparing food ingredients
• Using equipment such as mixers, special knives and cutters
• Reviewing kitchen inventory and determining what items are needed
• Unloading fresh supplies and organising the stockroom
• Checking sell-by dates and rotating food stock
Ensuring the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic
Washing utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately
Disposing of rubbish
Organising linen laundry
• Observing cooking times and correct temperatures
• Excellent food preparation and cooking techniques
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Personal Qualities
Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety standards would be an advantage.
Attention to detail and interpersonal skills. Honest, reliable, hardworking and willing to learn new skills and have a flexible approach to working with excellent time keeping.
